Driver injured after crashing head-on into garbage truck in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A woman has serious injuries after crashing head-on into a garbage truck in Northeast Portland early Friday morning, officials said.

Portland police responded to the crash near the intersection of NE Prescott St. and 55th Ave. around 4:30 a.m.

SWAT called to Molalla city center after man got into police car with rifle inside

Officials discovered that the woman had been pinned inside her 2011 Chevrolet Suburban after crashing into the truck. She was extricated by Portland Fire & Rescue and taken to the hospital with serious injuries that were determined non-life-threatening.

The garbage truck driver stayed at the scene and no arrests were made. Both vehicles had to be towed…
