PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two pedestrians were seriously injured when they were hit by a driver in a stolen car who was fleeing from a traffic stop in the Pearl District early Sunday afternoon.
Around 1 p.m., officers spotted the stolen Kia near NW 9th and Burnside and tried to stop it. But the driver took off instead, and police said they did not pursue.
The driver then turned onto Northwest Glisan, lost control and crashed into the pedestrians near Northwest 6th. The pedestrians were rushed to a hospital, but neither their exact conditions nor their names have been released.
