The National Weather Service warns of a transitional weather pattern this week, with scattered showers midweek followed by a sharp warm-up into potentially dangerous heat.

According to the NWS in Portland, a slight chance of showers begins Tuesday night with increasing rain potential through Wednesday night. The system moves out by Thursday morning, paving the way for sunny skies and rising temperatures that could hit 93°F by Sunday. The city hasn’t seen back-to-back 90s since early July.
