PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici and Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty provided an update on the city’s construction of new senior housing and a community center.
Meadowlark Place will be located on SW Hall and 5th Street at the current Beaverton Community Center.
It’s being redeveloped into an affordable apartment for seniors, with a communal space on the ground floor — Bonamici is advocating for Congressional community project funding to build that floor. If her request is approved, the project would use federal funds through the annual appropriations process.
