1 dead, 4 hospitalized after back-to-back NE Portland crashes

PORTLAND, Ore (KOIN) — One person is dead and at least three people were hospitalized after three back-to-back crashes in northeast Portland, authorities said.

According to Portland Fire & Rescue, crews responded to reports of a crash in the parking lot of the Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Safeway store just before noon.

At the same time, a second accident was reported near the Safeway at the intersection of Ainsworth Street and Northeast MLK Boulevard.
