Community pushes back on removal of traffic diverters in Northwest Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — There’s major pushback on the removal of a few traffic diverters in parts of Portland, even as Mayor Keith Wilson is calling the removals necessary for public safety.

People who ride bikes around Portland have likely seen these traffic diverters.

However, bicyclists might see less of them in Northwest Portland, as Wilson is directing the Portland Bureau of Transportation to remove the diverters at Northwest 20th Avenue and Northwest Everett Street, and on Northwest Johnson Street at the intersections of Northwest 14th and 15th Avenues.
