Two Northeast Portland crashes leave one critically injured, teen charged with DUII

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One driver was critically injured after hitting a tree and a teen was charged with DUII after a separate crash in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the first crash at Northeast Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Prescott Street.

Arriving at the scene, they found three vehicles involved in the crash, including a 2019 Mercedes-Benz. Police said the driver of the Mercedes had left the area and at least one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

A short time later, the 17-year-old driver who had left the scene was escorted back by his father and was detained by officers…
