The regional government Metro spent just over $120 million in the last fiscal year compensating its nearly 1,800 employees across the tri-county region.
Metro oversees a wide range of services, including land use and transportation planning, parks management, garbage and recycling systems and operations at some of Oregon’s most visited venues — the Oregon Zoo, Portland’5 Centers for the Arts, the Oregon Convention Center and the Portland Expo Center.
