Portland Mayor’s deadline to end unsheltered homelessness 110 days away

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Mayor, Kieth Wilson’s deadline to end unsheltered homelessness is now 110 days away. This week, he laid out how his plan is going to the homeless & housing committee, and announced some new approaches his administration is taking.

Tuesday night, Wilson told city councilors he plans to crack down on people living in RVs along the side of roads and in parking lots by increasing the number of RVs that get towed by the city each month.

“Portland has become a place where people bring in uninhabitable RVs and try to live in them despite there being no RV hookups anywhere in the city. You have to go to Tigard to dump sewage tanks, and as we know, live in RVs are not doing that. Our RV task force currently tows about 38 unsafe RVs a month, and we are funded to boost that goal to 96,” Kieth Wilson said…
