PORTLAND, OR — On Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 10:59 a.m., Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct gained information about an occupied suspicious 2024 Jeep Cherokee with no license plates parked in the 9600 block of Northeast Sunderland Avenue near the intersection of Northeast 33rd Drive in the Sunderland Neighborhood.
Officers located the vehicle and, as a precaution, put down Stop Sticks around the tires to prevent the driver from attempting to unlawfully flee the police stop.
When the driver became aware of the presence of the police, he put the SUV into gear and tried to steer the vehicle toward an officer standing nearby, then fled in the vehicle.
