PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — More than 100 volunteers have come together to help the Union Gospel Mission prepare its new facility, Angela’s House, in Washington County.
This “Life Change Center” is set to provide addiction recovery and transitional housing for up to 80 women and children at a time.
Matt Stein, Executive Director of Union Gospel Mission, explained the purpose of the center: “This is our life change center for women and children called Angela’s House where ladies can come in single or with kids, come in the door and have a place to really have a moment of peace and stability as they consider their next steps.”
Angela’s House will offer a range of resources, including an education center, a kitchen, and counseling services. “We have counseling on-site here which we’re really excited about, play therapy, trauma informed, trauma-centric counseling,” Stein said.
The center is located at 18555 Northwest Rock Creek Boulevard in Portland, and features a chapel, a learning resource center, a children’s activity center, a fitness center, and a donation center…
