Man dies while in custody at Multnomah County jail

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A 51-year-old man died while in custody at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail in Northeast Portland over the weekend, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said Chad William Scott was booked into jail on Friday, Aug. 15. Deputies found him unresponsive at about 5:30 p.m. the next day. Despite efforts by deputies and paramedics, Scott died.
