PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities are trying to locate a man who was convicted of child kidnapping after he fled before the trial could conclude.
Over Francisco Ochoa-Lopez, 27, was found guilty of second-degree kidnapping after the conclusion of the court case was held in his absence. He previously participated in the first two days of the trial but failed to return for the remainder of it, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office said.
Despite his absence in the final part of the trial, he was found guilty by a jury. Law enforcement officials are now trying to locate him and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. They also released a photo of Ochoa-Lopez in hopes the public can help locate him.

Ochoa-Lopez was found guilty of approaching a young child who was playing outside an apartment in Beaverton, picking her up, and bringing her to his apartment on September 17, 2023. Though he did not know the child or her family, he brought her to his home, closed the door and touched her chin, despite the young girl telling him “no” multiple times along the way.
