PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Morris Banks was a photographer at KOIN from 1980 to 1994. Largely self-taught, he broke the story of LA gangs moving into Portland in the 1980s by going out on his own time and providing the visual evidence.
His fearlessness and initiative caught the attention of the reality show “Cops,” then CBS News, where he worked for more than 30 years.
