PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — An owner of the ORO Apartments in the Pearl District pitched a tent outside of City Hall on Tuesday afternoon in protest of a new low-barrier overnight shelter that’s coming next door to him, the NW Northrup Shelter.
But according to the Multnomah County jail, 64-year-old Paul Rudinsky was booked into jail not long after KATU interviewed him setting up his tent 15 yards from the doors of City Hall.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., KATU noticed Rudinsky was no longer camped in front of City Hall. According to jail logs, he was booked into jail at 5:39 p.m…
