Rapper’s new shoe honors N. Portland fixture that ‘shaped my childhood’

As a child, Adam Amine Daniel and his friends would ride their bikes to the North Portland branch of Multnomah County Library, then scan the shelves for books and CDs to check out.

Fast forward a couple of decades, and Daniel is a Grammy-nominated rapper known as Aminé. Now 31, Aminé is giving back to the library, with the help of the community and through his third shoe collaboration with New Balance.

Aminé this week announced that his new shoe, dubbed the Biblioteca 2000, will be released Oct. 3. A sign-up is available at the Club Banana website…
