Some drivers enduring rush-hour traffic are startled by motorcyclists zipping by them through traffic by “lane-splitting” – riding on the stripes between the traffic lanes.
Not only is it illegal [Oregon Revised Statute 814.240] – but lane-splitting is also dangerous – as a biker learned while navigating through in the Brooklyn neighborhood in Thursday afternoon traffic congestion on August 7th, on S.E. Powell Boulevard at 10th Avenue.
