OREGON CITY, Ore. – A Milwaukie man who sparked a tense standoff with law enforcement earlier this summer has been sentenced to five years in prison after entering a guilty plea in Clackamas County court.
Guilty Plea and Sentencing
35-year-old Rian Keith Pittman pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, several additional charges against Pittman were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. On Friday, the court handed down a five-year prison sentence.
Standoff in Milwaukie
The charges stem from an incident on the evening of July 8, when Clackamas County deputies and Milwaukie Police responded to Pittman’s residence near SE Monroe Street and SE Linwood Avenue.
Authorities say Pittman became aggressive during the encounter, threatening officers with a semi-automatic handgun. Witnesses reported him shouting for deputies to “get out,” pointing the weapon directly at law enforcement, and firing rounds inside the home…
