Although they’ve been indicted for stealing a valuable coin from the Portland Precious Metals & Coin store on S.E. 52nd Avenue near Powell Boulevard on June 4 – Portland Police Bureau officials say the accused thieving female duo is still on the loose.
The investigation began when the business owner reported to Portland Police detectives that two unidentified women had entered the store and – through sleight of hand – had stolen a gold coin worth $3,400. And, they’d attempted to steal another before they walked out.
KPTV Fox 12 Oregon initially reported the story of the theft on June 6. Later that month, on June 26, a Seattle TV station reported a similar theft in Lynnwood, Washington.
