No deal: Strike at Evergreen Public Schools continues

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Despite a bargaining session with a mediator, no contract deal was reached between the Evergreen Public Schools and the unionized workers of the support staff.

Because the strike continues, school is once again cancelled for Wednesday, district leaders said. However, breakfast and lunch will be available free to students, with pickup at 3 separate schools in the district.

Wilson: Portland ‘won’t work with ICE’ on fed enforcement

Middle and high school athletic practices and events will continue during the work stoppage, the district said, but transportation is not provided.

The bargaining team “will be available to bargain again” Wednesday, officials said, but it’s unclear if another bargaining session is actually scheduled…
