Oregon police department’s ‘missed connections’ post about a suspected Walmart thief is causing a stir

A recent social media post on the Sherwood Police Department’s Facebook page is drawing widespread attention for its unusual approach: a call for tips about a Tuesday shoplifting incident written in the style of a “missed connections” ad.

The post — which went live on Wednesday night — has already drawn 11,000 likes and over 2,000 comments.

“MISSED CONNECTIONS: Our paths crossed last night and you didn’t give me the chance to introduce myself.
