PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Early morning thunderstorms moved up the Willamette Valley Saturday, giving residents who were awake, or were woken up, quite a show. Storms began in the southern and central valley just before 11 p.m. Friday, and by midnight, storms had formed in western Yamhill County.

A second wave of storms formed shortly there after bring more lightning to the west of Salem, and around 4 a.m., thunderstorms had formed near the Portland metro area…
