Clark County deputies arrested a 17-year-old juvenile early Friday morning after gunfire erupted near Heritage High School.
Deputies responded around 12:21 a.m. to reports of multiple shots and a female screaming for help, later locating a victim whose vehicle was being targeted in a car prowl by the suspect and a female juvenile. The suspect allegedly fired eight rounds, striking a residence twice and narrowly missing the victim. Law enforcement from CCSO, the Vancouver Police Department, and the Washington State Patrol established containment using K9 teams and drones. The juvenile female was temporarily detained, and the male suspect was found hiding on the school’s baseball fields and taken into custody after being apprehended by a K9 unit. A firearm used in the incident was recovered beneath nearby bleachers.
The gun was confirmed as stolen out of Thurston County, where the suspect also had active warrants for assault 1, unlawful possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and probation violation…
