PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An elderly married couple said they were forced out of their home, leaving heirlooms, their grandson’s toys and medical equipment piled on the street in Vancouver.
Marlene Berg, 83, admits they owed money and expected to leave but never thought they’d be forced to literally pick up the pieces of their livelihood in the process.

“Very hurt. It’s starting all over,” Marlene said after being evicted from her home after 15 years without missing a payment.
Her husband, Tom Berg, 82, is a veteran who has become bedridden with multiple disabilities. They lived in the home with their adult son and 9-year-old grandson.
