PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A missing hiker was found dead east of Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge, according to the Multnomah County sheriff’s office.
During a search and rescue operation for a hiker who was reported overdue around 8:15 a.m. near Wiesendanger Falls, authorities said a body was discovered nearby.

At first, officials said they couldn’t confirm whether or not the two cases were related. However, after the Medical Examiner responded to the scene to investigate, it was confirmed just before 3 p.m. that the recovered body was the missing hiker.
“Medical examiner did part of their investigation up there, the location, where the deceased was,” John Plock with MSCO said. “And then the SAR [search and rescue] volunteers helped transport the body down here to up the lot here, across from the lodge.”…
