PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — More than 1,200 Portland residents and over 110 businesses volunteered their time on Friday to clean up litter in the city.
The big clean-up effort “We Believe in Portland” went on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community members worked in groups to clean up the streets and sidewalks between Pioneer Courthouse Square and the Willamette River, over the Hawthorne Bridge, and into the Central Eastside.
“I think it’s just something that is needed. We really want to walk down the road and have a sense of beauty and clean. And that’s something to where it starts with us and it starts with cleaning up on our area and beyond,” volunteer Kayt Crow said…
