Heartbreaking cries growing weaker heard outside of homeowner’s residence leads to rescue of trapped pup

It had been just one week ago when Engine 33 (out of the Battle Ground Lake Fire Station) had been dispatched after a homeowner reported hearing a dog crying in the woods behind his residence for over 24 hours. The resident shared a video recording he had taken of the heartbreaking cries emanating from somewhere in the thick brush. Sadly, the cries had been getting weaker and weaker.

Captain Andrey Zalozh and firefighter Bryan Bosch led the challenging search through dense vegetation, steep slopes. And there he was; a hound dog trapped deep in a narrow crevice struggling to stand and trying his best to survive. No one knows how long he had been trapped, but he appeared dehydrated, hungry and very tired…
