PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — One Portland city councilor says it is “red alert time for our city’s services to steward our storefronts.”
Councilor Dan Ryan has introduced a resolution that would task city staff with tracking vacant stores, coordinating various bureaus to respond to challenges plaguing businesses, and conducting “exit interviews” after businesses close or leave Portland. The effort, if approved by the entire City Council, would be called the Storefront Support Program.
