Oregon Speed Zone Review Panel to lower speed limits on stretches of two major roadways

PORTLAND, Ore. — Drivers in Portland and Yachats could see speed limits drop on parts of two frequently-traveled roadways: North Columbia Boulevard and U.S. Route 101, the Oregon Coast Highway.

The Oregon Speed Zone Review Panel will meet Tuesday afternoon to discuss reducing the speed limit from 40 mph to 35 mph on North Columbia Boulevard in Portland between North Burgard Road and North Interstate Place. The changes were requested by the City of Portland.

The panel is also scheduled to discuss reducing the speed limit from 40 mph to 25 mph on the Oregon Coast Highway, between 50 feet north of Overleaf Lodge Lane to East 9th Street, and from 200 feet south of Yachats River Bridge to 250 feet south of Windy Way in Yachats.
