PORTLAND, Ore. — Two people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after their car caught fire on Highway 26, briefly closing the westbound off-ramp to the Oregon Zoo.
Portland Fire & Rescue said a mechanical problem caused the engine compartment to ignite, which disabled the car’s brakes.
