Tigard police discover credit card skimmer devices at 3 local stores

Tigard police are asking customers who used credit card machines at any of three separate Tigard stores to check their bank statements after credit card skimmers were discovered over the weekend.

The first skimmer — a device placed over payment terminals to steal credit or debit card information — was discovered Sunday, Sept. 21, at the 7-Eleven store at Highway 99W and Park Street by a customer who told an employee. In turn, the employee called the police.

Surveillance video shows that the device was likely placed inside the store the previous night, and Tigard detectives are working to identify the potential suspect…
