Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a robbery with a gun in Old Town late Saturday night. According to an official statement from the Portland Police Bureau, the incident occurred near Northwest 2nd Avenue and Northwest Davis Street at 11:33 p.m. on September 27.
Within minutes of the reported robbery, officers were able to swiftly obtain a detailed description of the suspect. They managed to quickly locate and detain the individual, identified as 37-year-old Anthony Santiago Rivera, a mere two blocks from the scene of the alleged crime. Rivera was allegedly in possession of a gun with obliterated serial numbers, further complicating an already tense situation.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the course of the robbery or the subsequent arrest. Rivera, whose age suggests a life potentially marred by previous encounters with the criminal justice system, now faces several serious charges.
