‘A revving engine and the squeal of tires’: Portland man sentenced for stealing car from dealership

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Portland man was sentenced in Clackamas County after stealing a Ford Mustang from a car dealership and leading police on a chase in January.

The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office announced that 37-year-old Jayairus Joshua Johnson was sentenced to two years in prison on September 26.

A Clackamas County jury deliberated for about 15 minutes before finding Johnson guilty of possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle, attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person…
