PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After nearly 40 years of operations, a Rockwood neighborhood restaurant will soon shut down for good.
Located on 17937 SE Stark St., Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant will close permanently on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. The announcement came on Wednesday — the same day that 78-year-old owner Linda Panza told her daughter and manager Mary Askew that she wanted to retire.

“She just wanted to retire and enjoy her last years quietly,” Askew told KOIN 6, adding that she doesn’t think her mother would “ever leave” if the business were to remain open.
