PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The suspect in armed incidents at two Southeast Portland gas stations who was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with police back in September has been identified, officials announced Saturday morning.
The morning of Sept. 20, officers were sent to a disturbance near 8400 Southeast Foster Road where a man allegedly threatened a gas station worker. About a half-hour later, police said that same man was spotted at a different gas station near Southeast 122nd and Division.
The suspect — identified as 30-year-old Bryan Velasco-Ruelas— took off from that gas station. Police then used a high-risk traffic stop to corral him and that’s when officials said the gunfire erupted.
