Early Tuesday morning, tragedy struck Highway 212 in Clackamas County as a pickup truck veered off the road and straight into the Timber Bar & Grill. According to a report by Oregon State Police, Anthony Cyrill Koenig, a 77-year-old resident of Lake Oswego, was the driver of the unfortunate Ford F-150 that caused significant structural damage upon impact. The establishment was said to have an occupant at the time of the crash who, fortunately, escaped injury.
The severity of the incident prompted a multi-agency response including OSP, the Sandy Police Department, Clackamas County’s own fire department, and ODOT who all worked in conjunction to address the accident and its aftermath, the highway was closed for a duration of about four hours as investigators parsed the scene to uncover what lead to the fatal departure from the road, seemingly ordinary factors weaving into the fabric of an ongoing investigation…
