PORTLAND, OR – A shocking new video from Portland’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility shows a federal agent firing mace directly into the face of a woman who appeared to be unarmed and standing still, sparking outrage and renewed debate over the use of force by federal officers, according to a Newsweek report.
The confrontation took place during one of Portland’s nightly standoffs between protesters and federal officers assigned to guard the ICE building — scenes that have become a symbol of the city’s tense relationship with federal law enforcement.

In the viral footage, a woman in a hooded jacket and face mask can be seen standing several feet away from a heavily armored officer outside the ICE complex. Without warning, the officer raises his mace canister and sprays her directly in the face from close range.
