When you first enter the Oregon Donkey Sanctuary you see a quintessentially bucolic scene: a big red barn surrounded by green fields where a couple dozen donkeys graze peacefully, all nestled in a picturesque dell just east of Oregon City.
But there’s more going on here than meets the eye, and it’s all due to the donkeys.
