28 arrested during public safety mission near TriMet lines

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — During a seven-hour-long public safety mission on Oct. 9, authorities said that 28 people were arrested on TriMet platforms and near bus stops.

During the mission, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with Portland police and the Port of Portland Police Department to address crimes near transit lines, particularly focused on Northeast 122nd Avenue between Northeast Halsey Street and Southeast Division Street.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the primary goal of the mission was to address violent crimes, criminal mischief, drug use and distribution, harassment, disorderly conduct and other crimes that are frequently reported.
