PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A gym is set to take over the building that previously held Northeast Portland’s Nike Community Store.
The space on 2650 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd is expected to reopen as a Planet Fitness in early 2026, Mike Paone confirmed in an email. He serves as marketing director for Easy Mile Fitness, the Boston-based franchise group at the helm of the new gym.

“We are excited to revitalize such an iconic building in Portland, and can’t wait to bring our high value gym to the neighborhood,” Paone wrote.
Nike confirmed the permanent closure of the community store more than two years ago, after the location had already been shuttered for months.
