People in apartments near Portland ICE building say tear gas, noise making homes unlivable

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Residents of an affordable housing complex across from the Portland ICE facility say tear gas and pepper balls used by federal agents during protests are making it difficult to live in their homes.

Gray’s Landing, which houses 249 affordable housing units, sits directly across from the ICE building, where protesters have faced federal agents for months. Residents say chemical agents seep into their apartments through door and window seals.

“They go home. They sleep at night. We’re here stuck in it with gas in our apartments,” said Janice Lineberger, a Gray’s Landing resident. “This used to be my sanctuary but no longer.”…
