Docs: Portland to pay $300,000 for overdose death made up by police and District Attorney

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The City of Portland is poised Wednesday to settle a lawsuit filed by a man who was wrongfully convicted for an overdose death that never happened.

The lawsuit was filed in 2023 by Attorneys Jesse Merrithew and Noah Horst, and sought $5.5 million in damages.
