Murder of woman found in car ‘not a random act of violence,’ Portland police say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police continue to seek out the public’s help in solving a homicide after a woman was found dead in her car in Northwest Portland on Oct. 11.

The woman, later publicly identified as Krystal Lynne Pendergraph, was already dead by the time officers got to the scene between NW 22nd Avenue and 23rd Avenue on Kearney Street shortly after 5 p.m.

“At this stage in the investigation, detectives do not believe this was a random act of violence,” officials said. “Based on available evidence, there appears to be a nexus between the victim and the suspect.”

The Portland Police Bureau has asked any residents who live or work in the area to provide detectives with any video footage they may have from surveillance or Ring cameras. This is all in hopes of identifying the suspect…
