Teenager arrested in Walla Walla in connection to drug trafficking investigation

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – A teenager from Vancouver is in the juvenile justice center after allegedly delivering a package of methamphetamine as part of a conspiracy involving the Walla Walla State Penitentiary, Walla Walla police said.

According to Walla Walla Police Department officials, on October 21 the Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force heard from staff at the Walla Walla State Penitentiary about a drug trafficking organization that was operating in and around the prison. Police said they were told a juvenile from Vancouver, Washington was being paid to take methamphetamine to Walla Walla.

According to police, an investigation revealed the juvenile had been ordered to deliver a package of drugs to a drop location at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds. Detectives said they watched the juvenile suspect arrive at the fair grounds and leave behind an item that seemed to be the package, then attempted to contact them.
