Sometimes it’s pizza, sometimes it’s chicken nuggets and fries, other times it’s tempura shrimp and kimchi fried rice; regardless of the flavor profile, protestors are being fed almost daily by a group of community members in Portland.
A small network of volunteers, called the Pizza Protest Team, stays connected through social media and secure messaging apps, and spends their extra hours nourishing protesters outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in South Portland.
