Portland restaurants still can’t get enough of Beaverton.
In 2017, Beaverton began luring new restaurants to its central core, sweetening the pot with the promise of safe streets, storefront improvement grants and a local citizenry hungry for more — and more dynamic — places to eat. Prominent early expansions included Big’s Chicken, Loyal Legion and Top Burmese.
Not all lasted, but the occasional closure hasn’t stopped Portland restaurateurs from kicking the tires. Kayo’s Ramen expanded to Cedar Hills crossing last year. In January, former Southwest Portland food cart Tito’s Taquitos opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the old Magna Kubo storefront.
