Attempted murder suspect arrested after shooting that left 1 injured

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was arrested on Thursday night after being accused of shooting and injuring another person in Southeast Portland earlier this month.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, the Portland Police Bureau dispatched its Enhanced Community Safety Team, Crisis Negotiation Team and drone unit to carry out the arrest and serve a search warrant at a home in the Hazelwood Neighborhood.

Police arrested 43-year-old Portland resident Michael Anthony Howard Jr., who is accused of attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting two weeks ago.

In addition, during the search of the home, police said they found a gun, which was seized as evidence.

On Oct. 16, at 8:18 p.m., Portland police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3500 block of Southeast 157th Avenue.
