PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon public health leaders are denying Mehmet Oz’s claims that they have spent billions of federal dollars on “illegal immigrants.”
In a social media post shared on Friday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services administrator and former host of “The Dr. Oz Show” alleged that a preliminary audit of several states found that they had unlawfully allocated more than $1 billion worth of Medicaid to undocumented people altogether.

Oregon was one of the six places identified. It has spent more than $5.4 million on healthcare coverage for undocumented residents, according to Oz.
