PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland woman appeared in federal court yesterday after allegedly assaulting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent outside the detention facility.
Lucy Caroline Shepherd (28) is charged with assaulting a federal officer, which is a felony offense punishable by up to eight years of federal imprisonment.
According to court documents, Shepherd struck an officer’s arm when she and other protesters congregated outside the ICE facility on October 31. The federal officer was deployed at the gates outside of the ICE building to clear a pathway for vehicles attempting to exit the facility…
