PORTLAND, OREGON — A 73-year-old Portland woman is in the hospital with severe injuries — including a brain bleed and multiple broken bones — after she was dragged down the street by thieves who stole alcohol from her liquor store.
The victim, identified as Anna Hyde, owns a local liquor store in Portland. Her daughter, Jennifer Fuller, told reporters that her mother was injured while trying to retrieve stolen merchandise from the suspects’ vehicle.
Attempt to Stop Thieves Turns Tragic
According to Fuller, the suspects had stolen several bottles of alcohol when Hyde tried to intervene.
“She reached into their car to grab the alcohol, and they slammed the door on her arm,” Fuller said. “It got trapped, and they started to drive away — dragging her across the gravel parking lot.”…
